A lot went wrong for the 2025 edition of the Indianapolis Colts. It is super easy to focus on the negatives, and trust me when I say there will be plenty of time for that. For now, however, let’s take
a look at some of the positives because there were a handful that came out of the season. Tyler Warren certainly stands out as one.
The buzz surrounding the first-round pick out of Penn State was high as many fans didn’t think he would be available when the Colts were on the clock. The man came in and immediately impressed. In his first year as a professional, he amassed 76 receptions with 817 yards and 4 touchdowns. The vast majority of that came with Daniel Jones under center. Not to knock Philip Rivers, but things just weren’t the same.
Before the injury, Warren was averaging 57 yards per contest, but that fell like a stone to 26.6 afterwards. That wasn’t on Warren. Expect to see an even better and more polished version this year. He lined up all over the field, catching tough passes, blocking and running as the fullback, and even threw the ball. That is a lot to put on a rookie. Imagining what he can do with a full offseason has to make fans giddy.
Rookies are hard to pin down regarding production. The top picks can fade and a fifth-rounder can steal the show. Tyler Warren looked like the stud the Colts thought they were getting. He displayed strong hands, a wide catch radius, and the ability to do the dirty work. He is a player every team would love to have. The best part is, this is just the beginning.
