
The TCU Horned Frogs travel to Chapel Hill for the 2025 season opener to take on the North Carolina Tar Heels at Kenan Memorial Stadium on Monday night as the final game of college football’s opening weekend.
North Carolina finished the 2024 season with a 6-7 overall record (3-5 ACC), ending the season with a Fenway Bowl loss to UConn. The Tar Heels parted ways with former National Champion head coach Mack Brown in order to make one of the splashiest coaching hires of recent memory. The new leader

While his beauty pageant girlfriend has garnered many of the headlines, there’s no denying Belichick’s bona fides in the coaching world. He brings his son Steve in from Washington to serve as his Defensive Coordinator and NFL coaching veteran Freddie Kitchens as his Offensive Coordinator. On the field the Tar Heels will be led by Gio Lopez behind center while Davion Gause tries to replace the rushing production of First Round NFL Draft pick RB Omarion Hampton.
The Horned Frogs had a miserable start to the 2024 campaign, suffering embarrassing losses to SMU, Houston, and SMU. TCU was able to turn it around in the second half of the season, winning six of its last seven, including a 34-3 victory of Louisiana in the New Mexico Bowl. The Frogs return quarterback Josh Hoover who threw for 3,949 yards and 27 touchdowns last season.
