The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree when it comes to reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.
It’s no secret that Pereira is one of the most talented and feared strikers to ever step foot
inside of the Octagon. The former Glory kickboxing champion possesses one of the biggest left hooks combat sports has ever seen, as well as a menacing kicking game that creates problems for any opponent “Poatan” encounters. He’s simply in a class of his own at middleweight, light heavyweight, and maybe even heavyweight.
Well, it appears that Pereira’s 14-year-old son is following in his father’s footsteps. The young fighter certainly has a long road ahead of him, but right now is appears Pereira’s offspring already possesses some of the same unique movements, shot selection, and stances that his old man does. It’s pretty cool to see.
Earlier this week, Pereira released some footage of his son training alongside himself and former UFC champion Glover Teixeira. Check it out below and let us know your thoughts!
As for Pereira, he’s hoping to capture even more history in 2026. The current UFC light heavyweight champion is rumored to be interested in a move up to heavyweight, which would give “Poatan” the chance to become the first three-division champion in UFC history.
