Just one day after filling their 17-player practice squad, the New York Giants have made a change there. General manager Joe Schoen announced during his Wednesday press conference that the Giants have added rookie offensive lineman Geno VanDeMark and dropped cornerback J.T. Woods.
VanDeMark could provide interior offensive line depth after the Giants traded Daniel Faalele and Josh Ezeudu before the cutdown from 90 to 53 players, and then saw Jake Kubas sign with the New England Patriots after dropping
him from the roster. Evan Neal remains a free agent.
VanDeMark, 6-foot-5, 326 pounds, played at Alabama the last two seasons after previously attending Michigan State. At Alabama last season, he played both right and left guard, and also started a game at center.
For the Indianapolis Colts this preseason, the undrafted free agent played 80 snaps. He played 64 snaps at left guard, and 16 on the right side.
