While the Kentucky Wildcats wait for Malachi Moreno to make a decision on whether he’s coming back for his sophomore season or staying in the NBA Draft process, the Cats are emphasizing the center position with their latest offer.
Mark Pope and the Wildcats have offered 4-star center Caleb Ourigou, he announced on Monday.
Ourigou is ranked as the No. 8 center in the country, according to Rivals, and the No. 62 player overall. He’s originally from the class of 2026 but reclassified.
Ourigou was one of
the breakout performers at the Nike EYBL in Memphis this past weekend, averaging 12.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks over four games while shooting 62.2% from the field.
If you think about where the Wildcats are right now, even if Malachi Moreno comes back in 2026, the Cats are almost inevitably going to have to find his replacement in 2027 when he most likely will stay in the NBA Draft process. That’s where Ourigou, who currently plays for the New York Rens and is from Queens, New York, comes into play heavily.
Ourigou boasts a strong assortment of offers, also receiving one from Illinois, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Temple, UCLA, West Virginia, and Florida.
