Jets this upcoming Sunday. The two teams have played each other 18 times, and the series is currently tied 9-9. Let’s all hope the Jags keep the top spot in the South, as we look at the good, the bad, and the ugly.
The good

A shutout and Boselli’s number was retired! Jacksonville recorded 19 first downs, 312 total net yards, and a 32:02 time of possession, compared to New York’s 11 first downs, 177 total net yards, and 27:58 time of possession. Maurice Jones-Drew, Fred Taylor, George Wrighster, and Reggie Williams scored touchdowns. Byron Leftwich completed nine out of 20 attempted passes for 140 yards and was sacked once for a loss of nine yards. Taylor led the team with 111 rushing yards, and Williams led with 53 receiving yards. Josh Scobee made the two attempted field goals. Terry Cousin, Brian Williams, and Deon Grant had interceptions. Bobby McCray, Tony Gilbert, Tony McDaniel, Rob Meier, John Henderson, and Montavious Stanley recorded six sacks for a loss of 26 yards. Cousin led the team with six combined tackles.

The Jags recorded 11 first downs, 203 total net yards, and a 26:37 time of possession, compared to the Jets’ 15 first downs, 283 total net yards, and 33:23 time of possession. Josh Scobee scored the team’s only points during the first quarter with a 55-yard field goal. Luke McCown completed six out of 19 attempted passes for 59 yards, had four interceptions, and was sacked once for a loss of ten yards. After seeing McCown for the majority of the game, Blaine Gabbert made an appearance and completed five out of six attempted passes for 52 yards and was sacked once for a loss of ten yards. MJD led the team with 88 rushing yards, and Mike Thomas led with 29 receiving yards. Rashean Mathis and William Middleton had interceptions. Matt Roth recorded a sack on Mark Sanchez, and Paul Posluszny led the team with eight combined tackles.
