Michael Page fought out his UFC contract last weekend in Paris and with all due respect, he did so in the most underwhelming way possible (yet again). In fact, “Venom” failed to register a single stoppage in six trips to the Octagon, despite a successful Bellator career that spawned some of the nastiest knockouts in the history of MMA.

Not surprisingly, the promotion hastily yanked Page from rankings eligibility now that he’s a free agent. Remember, “Venom” is still
able to re-sign with UFC if both parties can come to terms on a new deal, something that may interest Dana White and Co. if it means keeping Page from MVP MMA or Scott Coker 3.0.
Until then, he’s persona non grata — at least when it comes to the UFC rankings.

“Thank you Paris for having me,” Page wrote on Instagram. “I’m grateful for the support you gave me. Stepping in the cage is a privilege I do not take for granted and I look forward to bigger challenges.”
Where those challenges take place remains to be seen.
