After two in-house friendlies, it was time to get on the road for a game against Fiorentina – in-front of a crowd for the first time since Mourinho’s return. The Real Madrid XI: Lunin, Alexander-Arnold, Rivas, Martínez, Carreras, Camavinga, Valverde, Güler, Dumfries, Ciria, Endrick.
The first half was the best friendly display I have seen in some time. Madrid took to the occasion and peppered Fiorentina with waves of possession and chances to score. Dumfries was deployed in an advanced role, ahead
of Trent – and saw plenty of the ball. Endrick would score the first goal, before Castilla gem Alexis Ciria doubled the lead. Fiorentina pulled a goal back just before the break.
Fiorentina made more changes over the break and into the second-half, but the tide turned as they scored the equaliser through Moises Keane. Madrid seemingly stepped off, and the game looked more even as result. 2-2 at full-time, and another good workout in the lungs filled with both positives and food for thought.
