Dallas Mavericks fans naturally think highly of Dirk Nowitzki. The big German was drafted by the Mavs in 1998 and spent 21 years in Big D, helping Dallas to its only NBA title in 2010.
He’s also the sixth all-time leading scorer in the league with 31,560.
As you may have noticed, we have tracked the difference between how current and former NBA players rate former Duke star Cooper Flagg as opposed to how media members see him.
As far as Nowitzki goes, Flagg is immensely promising. Here’s what he had
to say:
“The hype is real, for sure. I’m not the biggest college sports watcher in general, whether that’s basketball or any sport, but of course I checked out Cooper. Sky is the limit, honestly.
“What I saw, just the way he reads the game already at that age. (He’s) barely 18, athletic, (has) skills. I heard his work ethic is through the roof. Everything I saw and heard is he’s the real deal.”
The NBA season starts in 35 days, so we’ll see soon just how Flagg does.
