While with WWE back in 2010, Dustin Rhodes wrote a memoir entitled Cross Rhodes: Goldust, Out of the Darkness.
The dust jacket of that Mark Vancil co-written effort calls it “a no-holds-barred account” of Rhodes’ life and career. It says the book will cover Dustin’s “painful five-year estrangement with his father”, Dusty, and his “descent of self-medication that led him away from a red-hot career as a WWE Superstar and nearly cost him his life.”
Dustin says at least some “holds” were barred in the
WWE-copyrighted Cross Rhodes. Over the weekend, he claimed his “hands were tied with the other company” while telling a follower he’s working on a new autobiography:
I am in the middle of writing my second book. This one will be way more in depth over my whole career, ups and down. Back to glory and doing it my way. My hands were tied with the other company
Dustin’s career has covered a lot of ground, from the last days of the territories to WWF/E, to TNA, back to WWE and now with AEW and running his own school and promotion — and then there’s the Rhodes family story, which he has a unique perspective on. An unfiltered account of Dustin’s story would be something.
Anything in particular you’d like Dustin Rhodes to cover in his non-WWE-authorized second book?
