The Las Vegas Raiders’ won 38-33 at the New York Jets on Sunday. Let’s review how their wide receivers fared:
Tre Tucker
Tucker played a team high 54 percent of the snaps, a team high. Still, it was a season low for him. He had no receptions on one target. This came after a two-game stretch in which he had 10 catches for 200 yards and three scores.
Jalen Nailor:
The starter played 46 percent of the snaps, a week after he played 75 percent of the snaps. He did, however, have his best game as he caught
four passes on four targets for 38 yards and a score. Maybe less is more for Nailor, who had eight catches for 75 yards on 20 targets going into Sunday’s game.
Jack Bech:
The 2025 second-round draft pick returned from a four-game stint on the injured reserve. He played 40 percent of the snaps. Yet, he wasn’t targeted.
Dareke Young:
He played five offensive snap. He didn’t have any targets.
Cody White:
White played two snaps with no targets. He ws released Wednesday and tight end Carter Runyon was activated,
Conclusion:
Nailor was the only Las Vegas wide receiver with a reception and they were targeted just five times. However, tight end Brock Bowers had six catches for 87 yards while lined up as a receiver, according to Next Gen Stats, the most for an NFL tight end in 10 seasons. We will see if that trend continues. But the Raiders need to get the ball to Tucker and Bech needs to show he deserves to be on the field. With White gone, maybe Dont’e Thornton or Malik Benson will be active Sunday.
