With Cutter Boley leaving Lexington, the Kentucky Wildcats are making a push to land Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt, making for a potential QB trade between the two schools.
According to Cats Illustrated’s
Justin Rowland and KSR’s Jacob Polacheck, Leavitt is scheduled to visit Kentucky. This comes on the heels of news that Leavitt entered the transfer portal with a do-not-contact tag, indicating he may already know where he wants to go after entering the transfer portal. He’ll have two years of eligibility remaining at his next school.
Oregon, Miami, LSU, and Texas Tech are also reportedly in the mix for Leavitt, but it sounds like Kentucky has a real shot of winning this portal recruitment if this visit goes well. To this point, no other visits have been reported for Leavitt.
As for Boley, On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Pete Nakos are predicting the former Wildcat to land with the Sun Devils. Boley is visiting Arizona State this weekend, so it looks like it’s a matter of when, not if, he takes his talents to Tempe.
You have to think Will Stein and Co. will be doing everything in their power to make sure Leavitt doesn’t leave Lexington to make other visits. With how fast transfer portal recruitments can turn on a dime, it may be now or never for Kentucky to lock this one up and secure its QB1 for next season.
