Meet the Mets
The Mets suffered their second loss of the season, losing 3-0 to the Cardinals and being held to just six hits. Senga had a great start, giving up just two runs in the third inning and going six full innings with three walks and an impressive nine strikeouts. Richard Lovelady made another appearance, giving up a run in two innings while striking out two. But the damage was done the second the first Cardinals run scored, as the Mets were unable to scratch even one run across, marking their first shutout
loss of the season.
