Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Let’s start the night off by taking a look back over the three biggest stories of Friday, Aug. 21, 2026.
- 41-year-old Rafael dos Anjos returns to action after two years at UFC 332: I’d love to see Rafael dos Anjos still in good fighting form, but it’s hard to be optimistic after THREE knee surgeries in the last two years.
- NSAC trying to withhold Max Holloway’s fight purse following UFC 329 win over Conor McGregor: Fining fighters for climbing on the cage is an absolute scam, a s—tty tax imposed by incompetent bureaucrats.
- Aljamain Sterling left on sideline after turning down opponent outside the Top 10: As I said last night, UFC has zero interest in pushing Aljo forward in the Featherweight title mix.
Insomnia
Conor McGregor using ChatGPT to talk trash for him is a perfect symbol of his decline.
Tyron Woodley managed to hype his name up while being generally respectful.
Josh Hokit is once again calling for the UFC to strip Aspinall and book him versus Ciryl Gane.
I highly doubt anything comes of it, but it’s cool to see more boxers in little gloves.
Both Andre Fili and Kai Kamaka III can be counted upon for a fun scrap.
Song Yadong is working hard on his wrestling ahead of his UFC Shanghai main event versus Umar Nurmagomedov:
At nearly 40, I kind of hope Henry Cejudo is doing it for the money? Boxing professionally for fun stops being a good idea at some point.
Unreal syllables.
Slips, rips, and KO clips
“Fatigue makes cowards of us all.”
It’s nice to see Kris Moutinho on the right side of a beatdown for once!
Overhand right left him wondering where he was.
Random Land
I knew this was Chilean Patagonia from the background spires alone — that’s probably not an ideal use of brain-space.

Midnight Music: This week marks ten years since the release of Frank Ocean’s Blonde, an album I would consider as one of the decade’s defining works.
Sleep well Maniacs! More martial arts madness is always on the way.
