Bayern Munich roared into life against Atalanta and ran riot, running out 6-1 winners in Bergamo thanks to goals from Michael Olise (x2), Jamal Musiala, Josip Stanišić, Serge Gnabry, and Nicolas Jackson. Harry Kane, who surprisingly sat the whole match, was nonetheless proud of the team’s efforts in securing the win.
Despite Musiala, Alphonso Davies, and Jonas Urbig
all picking up knocks, this gives the Bavarians a bit more leeway in the second leg. They could rest some players and see off the tie, while carefully managing fitness against Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend.
There was also a cute moment involving the players rushing over to Kane after Jackson scored his goal:
Bayern’s focus will be on the Leverkusen match on Saturday, and it’ll be interesting to see how Vincent Kompany sets the team up for that one. Expect a massively changed side that will play at the weekend.
