“I hope I can remain in this decent run of form. Things have been going well up to now, even though it’s still only early in the season.
“I’ll be trying hard to keep performance levels high.
“There are quite a few differences [playing in the Premier League] really. But I find that the biggest difference of all is the intensity of the duels and individual battles.
“Not the general intensity throughout the whole match but rather I’d say there are more one-on-one battles to contend with during the 90 minutes.”
He has not just been shining for Liverpool, having also made an impression for France over the lengthy international break:
“It was a massive thing for me [to get compliments of manager Zinedine Zidane]. Especially as I also got to make the starting XI, playing at home in the Stade de France.
“I don’t think it gets much better really, for me as a Frenchman, than playing in front of your whole nation. It was a magical moment.”
