Good morning, baseball fans!
There are any number of reasons why the San Francisco Giants have had a really terrible, awful, no-good, cruddy 2026 season. And sure, we could go through the likely reasons for that. But that kind of feels like an off-season thing. And we still have a handful of games to endure.
But you know who doesn’t have to endure any more of the 2026 season? The entire 2026 roster! Everyone’s season is over. Which just adds another heaping dose of misery to a team with an abundance
of it already.
I think we’ve probably already done one of these posts this year, but if so, that was really early and before we knew just how bad the season was going to go.
And while I was initially planning to write about the outcome of the WPBL Championship game that took place yesterday afternoon, I am also old and will probably be asleep by the end of the game. So we’ll talk about that tomorrow.
Instead, it’s time for another round of my favorite game: Wrong Answers Only! Because I think we could all use the laughs.
Today’s topic: What is the cause of the Giants’ cursed 2026 season?
Last time, I went through a lengthy tale about Buster Posey buying a cursed object from a farmer’s market. So this time, I think I’m going to give the blame to Netflix. See, they were out in McCovey Cove for Opening Day this year, and I can’t help but think someone took something out of the water that they weren’t supposed to. A cursed home run ball that was never fished out of the water by kayakers. Or perhaps it was, and they were cursed too and put it back. Hard to say. But it’s definitely Netflix’s fault somehow.
