“Jungle” Jack Perry is trying to sharpen his skills in the ring by taking on the best of the best. That’s why he called out Samoa Joe to return to AEW and fight him tonight (Oct. 6) at Grand Slam France. Tony Khan even added stakes by making it a qualifying match for the Clockwork Carnage world title main event at the upcoming WrestleDream pay-per-view.
Joe has been out of action since late May, but still walked into his return match tonight as the heavy favorite. After all, he’s a former AEW world
champion, while Perry is that guy who said “Cry me a river!” I mean, look at this fool trying his best to damage Joe’s manly chest with these ineffective chops.
To his credit, the former Jungle Boy wasn’t killed by Joe and did manage to lock Samoa in his Snare Trip submission at one point. But it was just a matter of time until Dylan’s son fell victim to the Muscle Buster.
Joe wins, and is now one of the eight stars competing in Clockwork Carnage at WrestleDream.
Do you think Samoa Joe has a decent chance to win back the world title in AEW’s new gimmick match? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
