Arman Tsarukyan continues to impress outside of the octagon.
The top UFC lightweight contender met Shara Magomedov – a rising star in the UFC’s middleweight division – in a grappling match Tuesday at a Hype FC event in Yerevan, Armenia, and Tsarukyan didn’t disappoint his home crowd as he showed off his elite grappling against “Shara Bullet.”
With a minute remaining in the one-round contest, Tsarukyan scooped the larger Magomedov off of his feet and brought him down to the canvas with a powerful slam.

It was the second takedown of the match for Tsarukyan, who was on the offensive for much of the contest. Magomedov, more known for his striking prowess, defended as well as he could, but was dragged to the mat on one occasion in addition to Tsarukyan later taking him for a ride.
The bout was not judged and the official decision was a draw, despite Tsarukyan clearly having the advantage in the contest.
Tsarukyan and Magomedov currently await their first UFC bookings of 2026. Tsarukyan is coming off of a dominant submission win over Dan Hooker in the main event of UFC Qatar and looks to secure a lightweight title shot in the near future, while Shara Bullet recently bounced back from his first MMA loss with a decision win over Marc-Andre Barriault at UFC Abu Dhabi.
For Tsarukyan, this is his fifth time competing in grappling in 2025. He previously scored wins over Mehdi Baydulaev less than two weeks ago, as well as Benson Henderson, Patricky Pitbull, and Makkasharip Zaynukov.
