The Cincinnati Bengals have had the bulk of their team in the building for voluntary offseason workouts this spring. After the Dexter Lawrence trade, we saw the majority of players in the building via social media clips and locker room interviews.
One notable absence was star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who was training on his own. Chase hadn’t been in Cincinnati until today, when the team posted a video from Day 1 of OTAs, featuring Chase and others.
Getting Chase back is big for this offense, as it’s nearly unstoppable when it includes a Chase, Tee Higgins, and a healthy Joe Burrow.
Also featured was cornerback DJ Turner II, rocking his new No. 0 jersey. 2026 is the last year of Turner’s contract, and some have wondered if that is why he was away from the team this offseason. He has frequently shared clips of himself still working out away from the facility, but he’s back at Paycor Stadium. 2026 will be a big year for Turner if he and the team don’t agree to a new contract, though there have been reports that the team wants to get a deal done.
Joe Flacco also returned. The 19-year veteran still lives in New Jersey, so he likely spent the bulk of his offseason training there and spending time with his family. He famously said he dines alone when in Cincinnati, so maybe a fan will spot him out for dinner after OTAs this season.
The energy around the team is palpable, and as of now, it appears they have the full squad in the building to gear up for a season with expectations as high as we’ve seen them since 2022.
