When the Browns hired HC Kevin Stefanski, many learned about his father, Ed Stefanski, and his pro sports experience.
The elder Stefanski, like his son, attended Penn but played basketball instead of football. In the mid-70s, Stefanski played in 80 games
in three seasons and played well enough (despite just 2.4 points per game) to be drafted in the 10th round by the Detroit Pistons.
While Ed Stefanski never made it onto an NBA court for a game, he did make an impact as a front office executive, including running the then-New Jersey Nets, Philadelphia 76ers and Detroit Pistons.
The 71-year-old is not finished working in pro sports, as he was hired to assist the Phoenix Suns:
