Ilja Dragunov won his AEW debut match against Speedball Bailey in the main event of last week’s episode of Dynamite. What would be the follow up angle for the Mad Dragon on tonight’s (Oct. 28) Fright Night show?
Well, here he is interrupting Tommaso Ciampa and challenging him to a match after the Psycho Killer referred to himself as the “greatest damn signing” in AEW history. If you listen carefully, you can hear an AEW fan shout out “No fucking way!” soon after it becomes clear that Ilja is coming
out to confront Ciampa.
Ciampa did the heel thing by teasing like he would take the fight, but he ultimately declined and walked away. However, AEW wouldn’t have shot this angle if the match wasn’t in the works.
Are you hyped to see Dragunov vs. Ciampa in AEW soon, Cagesiders? Let me know in the comments below.
