The Arizona Cardinals made their trade of Jacoby Brissett official today, moving the veteran journeyman quarterback to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for draft picks.
The compensation is interesting.
Brissett and a fifth round pick are going to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange
the Cardinals are getting a fourth round pick this year and an additional seventh in 2028.
The Cardinals also covered $2.7 million in Brissett salary to get him off the roster after he demanded a trade on Monday after being benched on Sunday.
Having to pay extra salary and send a fifth back with him to get him off the roster though was probably what was needed. Brissett missed all offseason, came in out of shape and way behind, causing the offense to look really anemic most of the season.
Impressive for the Cardinals to set up their new coach with that during the offseason.
Hopefully the Cardinals offense can find its footing and Brissett can find a new start with the Ravens.
