Nico Collins’ return will provide a major test for banged-up Cowboys secondary – Jason Kandel, The Landry Hat
The Cowboys have been challenged in the secondary by injury, and it gets no easier with the Houston Texans getting their star receiver back.
Nico Collins could dice up injured Cowboys defense now that he’s healthy
Collins is undoubtedly C.J. Stroud’s favorite target in Houston’s passing game, and had he not played, life would have been much easier on this DB room. It would’ve forced Stroud to play through ex-Cowboy Dalton Schultz and Kayshon Boutte, and neither of them is as threatening as Collins.
The 27-year-old has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last two seasons, and without him, the Houston offense sputtered.
Updates: DBs elevated; Hooker, Revel available – Dallas cowboys.com, Staff Writers
Needing help in the secondary, the Cowboys made a few roster moves Saturday.
With injuries in the secondary, the Cowboys have elevated DBs Reddy Steward and Juanyeh Thomas from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday’s game against the Texans.
Dallas will potentially get some help back in Houston, as both S Malik Hooker (forearm) and CB Shavon Revel (knee/ankle) practiced in full on Friday and do not have a game status designation.

Buyer’s remorse: Cowboys offseason free agent additions going belly up – Reid Hanson, Cowboys Wire
Why some of the Cowboys offseason moves are already biting them.
Three weeks into the 2026 campaign and the Cowboys’ free additions are offering next to nothing. Thompson, the headliner of the class, is expected to miss the next 4-6 weeks with a hamstring injury. Even before the injury, Thompson’s contributions were questionable. He was not the steady force or playmaker he was billed to be and graded out by PFF as safety No. 108 through three games.
Cap Gymnastics: Dallas can sign Pickens and Porter in ’27 – Cody Warren, Inside the Star
With some clever money moves, the Cowboys can keep both of their former Pittsburgh Steelers.
Kenny Clark will have a $23.7 million cap hit in 2027. A normal release would save $8.9 million, but a post-June 1 treatment would save $20 million, leaving $3.7 million in dead money that year and $11.1 million in 28′. I like Clark, but can we get younger and cheaper while getting the same production from someone else. Three other players I would look at are Hunter Luepke, KaVontae Turpin, and Markquese Bell.
All-time rosters for 23 teams with multiple Super Bowls – ESPN
Go back in time and check out an all-star roster from the Cowboys’ past.
Maybe it’s fitting there is an even split between the Tom Landry era Super Bowls and the Jimmy Johnson/Jerry Jones era Super Bowls. Seven from the 1990s on offense. Seven on the defense from the 1970s. It’s also an 11-11 player split on offense and defense between the two eras.
Some of selections are obvious, such as the Super Bowl MVPs. Troy Aikman had four TD passes in Super Bowl XXVII. Deion Sanders was the best Cowboys corner of the 1990s…
