Jim Cornette recently engaged in an online spat with Mason Rook, which saw the legendary former manager turned podcaster call the WWE NXT star a “human waterbed.”
The war-of-words began after actor/wrestler Paul Walter Hauser posted a video on X (Twitter) of a match between Rook — who has received enthusiastic praise from John Cena on multiple instances — and Jackson Drake. Hauser noted that the crowd was into the match, while adding a reference to WWE Hall of Famer Nick Bockwinkel.
“Watch & listen
to the crowd. The people who paid MONEY to watch this show are LOVING it,“ Hauser wrote on X. ”They do not care about the Twittersphere’s ‘Wiser Than Thou’ disdain parade. Sorry it didn’t meet your Nick Bockwinkle [sic] requirements. They got over & had fun. Welcome to wrestling in 2026.”
Cornette took exception to Hauser’s message. He responded by insulting both the actor as well as Rook, who he compared to Cher’s son with the late Sonny Bono.
“It’s friends and family who got free tickets watching Chaz Bono endure oxygen deprivation, turdblossom,“ Corny wrote on X. ”You couldn’t have parked Nick Bockwinkel’s car. F*** off.”
The heated exchange continued with Hauser writing: “My children & their generation will never know or care who Nick Bockwinkle is or was. Doesn’t diminish his legacy/talent/what he gave. It’s just the truth, Jimmy. The coming generation will likely watch, & enjoy, Mason Rook & Jackson Drake. Boo. Hoo.”
Never one to shy away from a verbal fight, Cornette came back with the following: “Rook won’t be around long enough for a housefly’s generation to enjoy. The problem is idiots in the business who are marks for show biz a******* who are marks for wrestling letting them play in our profession & making them believe they should have opinions. See Hauser, Dumbass.”
As of press time, Hauser has deactivated his X account. However, Rook himself eventually got involved.
He wrote to Cornette: “Thanks Jim, I’m so grateful all my friends and family from England were in attendance last night.”
The English wrestler Man Like DeReiss posted a video that showed Rook reading the exchanges between Hauser and Cornette, as well as Mason’s response.
Of course, things didn’t end there, as Cornette still had another round in the chamber.
“I didn’t mean YOUR SPECIFIC friends and family, you human waterbed, or there wouldn’t have been enough people in the crowd to count to 15 on their fingers,” the wrestling legend posted on X.
