The Guardians are reportedly calling up utility man Daniel “Mormon Missile” Schneemann and right-handed reliever Carlos Hernandez. The first person I saw report this was @CleGuardsPro on Twitter.
Schneemann is probably familiar to all of you. He does have a 130 wRC+ with RISP this season, so, hey, hope that continues.
You may or may not remember Hernandez who appeared with the Guardians last season but had a horrible car accident in the offseason breaking his arm and femur in a life-threatening event.
He has had trouble avoiding barrels in 13 innings of work in Columbus but has struck out 13.5 batters per 9 with a 96 mph fastball. I suspect he is here until Slade Cecconi is ready but it’s a great comeback story.
