The Winter Meetings are reaching the final lap, and we’ve still yet to see or hear much from the Yankees’ side. After a quiet Monday for the league all-around, we did get some momentum on the market on Tuesday
with Kyle Schwarber and Edwin Diaz going to the Phillies and Dodgers, respectively. Perhaps we’ll get a spectacular finale to the meetings today, perhaps we won’t, but either way the hot stove has been lit and hopefully some moves will be on the way soon.
I’ll start our day off here with a rumor thread for anything that comes up throughout Wednesday’s meeting hours, and then Sam looks into Adolis García after the former All-Star was non-tendered earlier in the offseason. John gives out a solid report card to the Yankees’ swingman in the pitching staff, Ryan Yarbrough, and later in the day Michael will be here to go over the results of the Rule 5 Draft. And as always, if the Yankees decide to get in the mix and make a deal of their own today, we’ll be on hand to cover it.
Questions/Prompts:
1. Will someone earn a contract bigger than Schwarber’s $150 million deal today?
2. Were you surprised to see Edwin Diaz pick the Dodgers over the Mets, or was it inevitable that they would land somebody this offseason?
