The Champions League playoffs have concluded and Liverpool FC is set to face either Galatasaray or Altetico Madrid. Both potential opponents are teams that Liverpool have already played in the group stage.
The Reds beat Atletico 3-2 at Anfield, while they fell short in Istanbul, losing 1-0.
The draw for the last 16, which takes place in Nyon from 11am UK time on Friday morning, will also map out Liverpool’s potential route to the final in Budapest on May 30.
Depending on whom they draw in the bracket, Liverpool could face Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Chelsea, or Newcastle should they progress.
By way of being a seeded team, Liverpool will host the return leg at Anfield, likely to be played on Wednesday, March 18. We await what Friday has in store for us.
