Two spots on the practice squad have changed hands.
The New England Patriots announced the additions of offensive tackle Sebastian Gutierrez and guard Andrew Rupcich on Tuesday.
Gutierrez, 27, entered the
NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Minot State in 2022. The 6-foot-5, 308-pound bookend spent his rookie training camp with the Denver Broncos. A week on the practice squad in Foxborough followed that October. He has also been a member of the Las Vegas Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers and Indianapolis Colts. His career includes multiple second stints, plus two appearances as a standard elevation.
Rupcich, 26, previously overlapped with head coach Mike Vrabel. The 6-foot-6, 325-pound product of Culver-Stockton, an NAIA school, joined the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He remained in Nashville until being released from the practice squad on Monday. Rupcich appeared in 12 games, starting a pair, over the course of 2023 and 2024 and finished last campaign on injured reserve.
To make room among the 17, the Patriots released guard Jack Conley and defensive tackle Fabien Lovett from the practice squad.
Conley, 24, agreed to terms at Gillette Stadium as part of the undrafted class in May. After seeing 76 offensive snaps in the preseason and clearing waivers at the 53-man roster deadline, the Boston College alum signed to the practice squad and returned midway through September. The 6-foot-7, 333-pound Conley saw time at right guard, left guard, right tackle and as an eligible tight end while in Chestnut Hill. As a graduate student, 60 games in, he earned an All-ACC honorable mention.
Lovett, 25, joined New England’s practice squad entering Labor Day weekend in August. The 6-foot-4, 315-pound defensive tackle by way of Mississippi State and Florida State went undrafted in 2024. He spent the entirety of his rookie year on the practice squad of the Kansas City Chiefs and reached a futures contract following Super Bowl LIX.
