The Rangers did not wrap up their 10 game road trip well. In fact it was a quite frustrating week overall.
While they showed they can shut out the Mariners, blow out the A’s and also steal a win from them in the 9th inning, they didn’t always show up when opportunities presented themselves.
In their win against Seattle, while scoring five runs is great, they stranded 13 on base and were 5-for-17 with runners in scoring position in that game. Saturday’s game? Stranded 16 and went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position.
Sunday’s game saw five stranded and 1-for-five RISP.
I also don’t have the exact number the Rangers had the bases loaded this week and did nothing with it but I know it was at least three and that’s three times too many.
The Seattle series did go about the exact way you expect the Rangers to play in Seattle considering its been three years (May 2023) since they won a series there, seven (May 2019) since they won back-to-back games.
Texas comes home for a nine game home stand against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Athletics, and New York Yankees. Here’s hoping being at home helps thinks click, they can get into a rhythm, and find a way to start stringing hits together and stop stranding them.
