Racing Louisville announced today the acquisition of defender Quincy McMahon for $50,000 and an international roster spot for 2026 and 2027 in a trade with San Diego Wave FC.
“I’m thrilled to be joining a club defined by its resilience and strong culture,” McMahon said. “I’m thankful for the opportunity to build on last year’s success and can’t wait to contribute in any way I can.”
McMahon is a fullback, and played limited minutes with San Diego Wave with 12 minutes across seven appearances in her
rookie season as a backup to Hanna Lundkvist and Perle Morroni. She did see more time in the club’s postseason tournament in World Sevens Football in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. There she played 98 minutes across three days, and five matches with a goal.
“We have been interested in Quincy (McMahon) for quite some time. She is someone we believe adds tremendous value to our group’s identity and was a player we pursued strongly,” Racing head coach Bev Yanez said. “We’re thrilled she’ll be with us this upcoming season and are confident she will contribute both on and off the pitch.”
The 22-year-old had an accomplished collegiate career at UCLA across four seasons with 86 appearances, eight goals and was a part of the national championship winning team in 2022 as a sophomore. McMahon has also been a part of the United States Youth National Team system for many years with appearances across the U-18, U-19, U-20 and U-23 teams.
McMahon originally signed her first professional contract with the Wave for three years through the 2027 season. The Wave are now without a traditional right back on their roster, but one of their center backs, Kristen McNabb, has appeared in the fullback position.
