Getting a road win at Kyle Field over the Aggies is a good enough gift to last a while, and this week, the Kentucky Football team received a special gift from Nike.
On Wednesday morning, Kentucky released a video of strength coach Brandon Roberts giving the guys the new Nike Air Zoom Hyperslides, a pair of shoes that, from afar, look like your everyday sandals or slides. They are far from a regular pair of those, though. These are recovery shoes that Nike says will “help reduce tension and promote
relaxation.”
In the video, you will notice a magnetic pod that controls heat and vibration in the shoes, with three levels of each for the wearer to choose from. The strap on top of the slides has a flap that opens and closes to provide easy access for the wearer. You can select the level you want at any time by tapping the pod or using the app. The slides can also be worn casually without the pod in.
Roberts also noted that Will Stein is the reason behind all of this. With Stein’s relationship with Nike dating back to his days at Oregon, he just reached out to hook the guys up with some sweet new recovery slides.
“Appreciate you all for this. Coach Stein was able to get this, Nike, the Hyperice collab with these things. Nike, we appreciate what you all do for us.”
The players responded, “Appreciate you, Nike!”
It may be hard for us fans to lace up the cleats and go upset a top-10 in the country, but at least we can recover like them! If you would like to get your own pair, it’ll cost you $249. They come out on September 29 on nike.com, hyperice.com, and at select retail locations.
