What is the story about?
With
each day that the World Series plays a game, we get closer to the start of free agency. The Phillies promise to be active, but the thing that I am most interested in is arbitration. Which players are going to be tendered contracts, which players won’t be. That discussion will lead to more free agents entering the market, a big thing considering that the market isn’t that great to begin with.
On to the links.
Phillies news:
- Don Mattingly was ready to sit back and just be a bench coach untilthe 2026 Phillies “rekindled” his desire to manage again.
- The Phillies have needs in the outfield and should consider making another run at acquiring Steven Kwan.
MLB news:
- The Marlins are Marlins-ing again, this time being willing to listen to offers for Xavier Edwards and Otto Lopez.
- Cleveland loves Stephen Vogt and he loves them back, enough to not entertain other ideas of managing in other places.
- Sebastian Walcott might be a top three prospect in the game today, so the Rangers are trying him in other spots to fast track him.
