She’s been a free agent for a while, but we’ve been hearing the name KAIRI — now used by the wrestler who went by Kairi Sane in WWE — a lot more over the past couple weeks. KAIRI didn’t make a much-speculated-upon AEW debut at WrestleDream this past Sunday night, but many still expect her to sign with Tony Khan’s company.
In reports about KAIRI, there’s debate about whether visa issues are holding up her next move. She didn’t mention those in an interview with Japan’s Weekly Pro Wrestling (via Fightful),
instead asking for patience from fans as she pursues other projects. But she seemed to confirm reports that negotiations with her next promotion are going well, if not complete:
“I can’t give you any specific details just yet, but various things are already in motion. I’d be happy if everyone could wait just a little longer. Every day, I’m enjoying the experience of challenging myself with new things. Once I return to wrestling, I might be more excited than ever before.”
Chris Jericho’s cruise is one booking we know the Pirate Princess is locked in for. Sounds like it’s one she picked out to help her be as excited for her return as possible:
“I received a truly wonderful offer from the Jericho Cruise. The idea of working aboard a ship as the ‘Pirate Princess’ really excites me. After leaving WWE, I wanted my first wrestling related activity to be something I genuinely wanted to do, and this was it.”
Think the “various things” will have moved enough by Nov. 7 for KAIRI to debut during the episode of Collision that will air/stream live from the Cruise of Jericho?
