The brief WWE Women’s title run of Chelsea Green ended when Tiffany Stratton betrayed her “friend” and cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase today (Nov. 7) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Green spent most of time with the SmackDown belt questioning whether she deserved it. Moments before Stratton’s turned on her during their latest brawl with Liv Morgan and Judgment Day, Chelsea had beaten Morgan for the Crown Jewel title, which she said finally validated her reign.
About that…
What went down with Tiffy
Two-Time at Crown Jewel shook Chels enough that she’s back to square one.
“How do you think I feel? I spent my entire wrestling career waiting for this moment, waiting to stand there and tell the WWE Universe and my mom and my dad and all of my friends that I belonged here. I just spent 10 minutes on SmackDown telling the crowd this was going to be the moment in Saudi Arabia at Crown Jewel that I was going to show everybody that I belong here.
“And instead, I didn’t just lose my championship, but I lost a friend. So I’m going to go home and I’m going to regroup, and I’m going to do whatever I need to do to build my confidence back up.”
As a long-time fan of Chelsea Green, I was excited for her to get a chance to run with one of WWE’s World championships. Unfortunately, the story WWE decided to tell with her as champ didn’t give me hope she’ll ever get another run.
Really, I’m not sure how much I want one. As a heel maybe, but if this is gonna be her babyface character…
What do you think, Cagesiders?
