Robin Roefs: 6/10
Didn’t have much to do until late on and made a good save low down from Longstaff, although got in a bit of a muddle with a ball to the back post shortly afterwards.
Trai Hume: 7/10
Defended well down his side and made a trademark thundering tackle in the first half.
Nordi Mukiele: 7/10
Was having a good game, competing physically and using the ball well but took a whack from O’Nien early in the second half and had to go off.
Luke O’Nien: 7/10
A typically eventful game but kept Calvert-Lewin quiet, even if it was with slightly unorthodox methods. Was usually
the player underneath the swirling high balls, had to work hard a few times in the first half with balls in behind.
Reinildo: 6/10
Didn’t give Wilson a sniff down the left and worked really hard but had some erratic touches and struggled a bit more than the rest of the back four with the conditions.
Granit Xhaka (C): 7/10
Gave the back four plenty of protection and blocked plenty of balls that were headed for dangerous areas. Closed down the Leeds defence high up, which saw Brobbey in on goal and whipped in a lovely corner just before an Angulo shot was blocked but not really the conditions for his passing to thrive.
Noah Sadiki: 7/10
Worked incredibly hard today, even by his usual standards. Popped up all over the pitch and made a brilliant clearance from an extremely dangerous cross in the second half.
Chris Rigg: 6/10
Had a good game down the right, tried to be influential on the ball and ran his socks off for the cause. Had one really good run in the second half, when he beat his man and drove into the box but just took a little too long to get his shot off.
Enzo Le Fee: 6/10
Played a good ball into Brobbey early on that resulted in a shot on target but often found himself a little too far away from the striker. Worked incredibly hard though and did great in the second half to track back and cut out a dangerous ball into the box.
Nilson Angulo: 7/10
Not that it was saying too much in today’s game but I thought he was the best attacker today. Didn’t get enough of the ball but had the beating of his full back and tested Trafford with a curler that needed to be tipped wide.
Bryan Brobbey: 6/10
Looked like he hadn’t played in a little while but put in a good effort and had a couple of good chances, forcing a save from the edge of the box early on and then closing down Trafford and trying a clever body swerve to send the goalkeeper the wrong way, unfortunately it was a good save with his foot by Trafford.
Substitutes
Timur Tutierov: 6/10
Gave us some more energy up top and helped us push Leeds back after Brobbey went off.
Omar Alderete: 7/10
Looked much more like his old self when he came on, threw himself at balls into the box and made himself a nuisance at the other end.
Chemsdine Talbi: 6/10
Made an instant impact when he came on, driving at the Leeds defence and almost finding a way in. Did waste a corner with a hugely overhit effort late on.
Habib Diarra: 6/10
Came on for Le Fee and gave us a bit extra in behind.
Man of the Match: Luke O’Nien
Some good defensive contributions all round in what was difficult conditions but I’ll give my man of the match to O’Nien, the ball was a magnet to him when the ball was swirling around in the air. Dealt with everything that came his way and kept Calvert-Lewin quiet.
