Kentucky running back Jamarion Wilcox, a redshirt sophomore, is currently tied to three separate legal matters, according to court documents.
The most serious involves a temporary restraining order filed against Wilcox following an incident early Wednesday, August 20.
Two additional legal issues for Wilcox have surfaced in recent months. In April, he was pulled over by a Kentucky State Trooper in Lancaster. According to Ryan Black of the Courier Journal, court records show that the trooper reported
Wilcox “appeared to be racing a vehicle that passed me at a high rate of speed” while the trooper was driving 55 mph.
The citation states that Wilcox’s exact speed could not be measured by radar. He was charged with driving 10 mph over the posted limit in a 55-mph zone and is scheduled to appear in court in January.
Earlier this week, Wilcox was cited by Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control for four violations, also reported by Black. Authorities noted he could not provide proof of rabies vaccinations or licenses for two dogs he owns, described as a “lab type” and a “Cane Corso” type. Wilcox is scheduled to appear in court for the animal violations on September 18.
Wilcox’s legal troubles now span allegations of sexual misconduct, traffic violations, and animal care issues, all of which have upcoming court dates. How the cases unfold could have implications for both Wilcox and the Kentucky football program.
