What is the story about?
NBA trades and signing rumors continue today as teams negotiate with their own free agents and try to squeeze in last-minute deals under the 2025-26 cap (or make pacts to swap players after the July moratorium ends and the 2026-27 fiscal year begins).
Today the Oklahoma City Thunder took another step to clear roster spots and cap space, sending guard Isaiah Joe to the Detroit Pistons for two future second-round picks (per Shams Charania). The Thunder previously traded guard Aaron Wiggins to the Atlanta
Hawks for a similar return. Oklahoma City is over the luxury tax threshold and needed to clear space on their roster for the two rookies obtained this year in the first round of the 2026 NBA Draft.
