Arizona Cardinals receiver Marvin Harrison has been having heel issues that have kept him out of the past two games since injuring his foot in the Week 13 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now,
he should be ready to go against the Atlanta Falcons at home this Sunday with a 1:05 pm kickoff.

Harrison was available to the media after Friday’s practice. When asked about his availability this weekend, he stated:
“I am good enough to go. So, we’re going to see Sunday.”
During this week’s practices, Harrison’s concern with the injured heel has been his ability to slow down. He described why this is troubling:
“Any kind of deceleration really. I can kind of run straight, but changing directions and decelerating, that makes it tough having a heel issue. Yeah, we’re going to see. And whatever my role is, come Sunday, I’m going to do my best to star in my role, help the team win, make the plays if they come to me and just whatever I can do to help the team at this point.”
Arizona head coach Jonathan Gannon stated that the offense has a plan for Harrison with the Falcons contest. That doesn’t mean he will play, or how many snaps they will give him. But the thought process is if he feels ready to go during the pregame warmups, they will insert him as if he is completely healthy and see how he responds.
Any injury is a tough injury, but skill players must be able to run fast, make abrupt cuts, and then accelerate and decelerate on a dime. Pass defenders do not care for one moment if you can’t cut or if a player isn’t 100%.
Harrison concluded:
“It’s been tough. Definitely has been tough. The whole year has been tough, honestly, just how I think what we wanted to be going into this year and kind of where we’re at right now is definitely not what we expected, but the whole year’s been tough. But you got to keep going one day at a time and stick to your process.”
There are some that point to the season already being lost, and what the point is to playing Harrison with just a few games left on the schedule. However, this is a player decision. And if Harrison wants to play and can do the dirty work, then stick him out there.
QB Jacoby Brissett has this offense moving, especially the passing game. The sight of TE Trey McBride, Michael Wilson, and Harrison will be a grand reunion. McBride leads the NFL in receptions.
