The episode of Dynamite that premiered last night (Dec. 24) was entertaining, even knowing most of what was coming in advance. And we do have highlights from the pre-taped Dynamite on 34th Street show
down below.
But first we want to point you to the video above, which promises roughly 25 hours of that memorable scene that saw Hangman Page sip whiskey in front of a raging fire… that he started in Swerve Strickland’s childhood home. We do that because we think it’s a clever at best, harmless at worst way to remind everyone Collision is on TNT tonight at the later-than-usual start time of 9 p.m. Eastern, evoking both those virtual fireplace videos and the way channels like TBS and TNT love to run a marathon for a holiday. But mostly because it’s a throwback to one of our favorite moments from one our favorite pro wrestling stories/rivalries in recent memory, and we can’t think of a more festive backdrop then that.
Swerve might take issue with our using his pain for Xmas vibes. He should probably take it up with his buddy Hangman this Saturday, when they’re both challenging Samoa Joe for the AEW World title in a 4-way that will also include MJF at Worlds End?
We’ll see how their friendship holds up at the PPV. It looked solid last night when they took terms physically and verbally beating down MJF in New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom. Which you can see some of in this previously mentioned playlist of highlights from Dynamite on 34th Street.
Oh, and Merry Christmas, if that’s your thing.
