It’s Sunday, and you know what that means — it’s time for our weekly social media roundup! With the baseball season in the rearview mirror, New York sports fans turn towards football, and with the Giants
and Jets being, well, the Giants and Jets, they immediately turn their eyes to the Knicks and Rangers at Madison Square Garden. How have the Yankees been spending their time as spectators, rather than the main event? Let’s find out!
Sitting Court Side
Who could have imagined that Cam Schlittler would be sitting court side at the New York Knicks season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers? And yet, that is exactly where the young pitcher, who rose to national prominence with his eight shutout innings over the Boston Red Sox in the AL Wild Card Series, found himself this past Wednesday.
Oh, yea, Aaron Judge was also at the Garden for the game, as was pending free agent Devin Williams.
Down on the Farm
Yankee captain Aaron Judge posted a picture at Alstede Farms in New Jersey this past week. According to Google, it’s a commercial farm where you can pick your own fruit and vegetables that are in season, and in October, has a pumpkin patch and your typical Halloween-themed rural activities…which means someone, somewhere, went for a nice family outing, and got a chance to pick apples next to one of the most famous people in New York.
KEVIN!
Look, I know what the people want. When someone from the Yankees family posts a collection of pictures and videos of their pet, you can bet good money it will find its way here. And so, here’s Anthony Rizzo’s ultimate good boy, Kevin.
King of the Gil
During the offseason, Yankees pitcher Luis Gil often posts about his day-to-day life on Instagram. Here’s what he posted so far this October, starting with a reflection on 2025 looking ahead to 2026.
Cabby at Driveline
Yankees utilityman José Caballero is already getting some work in to prepare for 2026, as he posted some video of him at Driveline this week.
A Message from Kay
Michael Kay took to Instagram to call out some people who overly criticize their children playing Little League baseball. Because, yea, your child is probably not going to play Major League Baseball, and that’s okay.
