With our Miami Dolphins traveling north this week to take on the hated New York Jets, I asked the following question this past week:
What are your predictions, bold or otherwise, for the Miami Dolphins’ defense and offense in this coming Sunday’s game vs. the New York Jets? Who do you expect to lead the team in key categories like tackles, tackles for loss, pass breakups, interceptions, defensive touchdowns, etc., on defense, and receiving yards, touchdowns, receptions, rushing production, and first
downs, etc., on offense? What are your stat-line projections for our key playmakers this week, and/or who will be the team’s MVPs on each side of the ball?
Below are some of your predictions and thoughts on tomorrow’s game-
DalFinsFan doesn’t so much have predictions as hopes and wishes.
Want to see the Fins come out fired up and take it to the Jets, and see some much better play out of Willis.
CluelessNFLfan predicts this is the week…maybe!?!
We finally win. 20-17
CelticPeacock says it could all go south again.
Could be another ugly outing…
surfla8 believes if the Phins don’t win Sunday, they will be awarded the first pick in the draft.
C’mon! This is the Jets we’re talkin’ about right?
Dolphins win by 3.
If we can’t win this one, then it’s 100% first pick of the first round, baby!
JUK says the recipe for a victory is to cram it down their throats via the run.
The jets are 2-0 when they win the rushing yards battle and 0-4 when they don’t.
We need to pound it down their throats and force Geno into 3rd and longs when he will try to play hero ball. Some will come off but he will make mistakes if we do that.
Dolphins 24-17
Phoenix6 has us winning by a TD margin.
What are your predictions, bold or otherwise, for the teams’ defense and offense in this coming Sunday vs. the Jets?
Close to 300yds of Offense, Defense holds the Jets to 17pts
Who do you expect to lead the team in key categories like tackles, tackles for loss, pass breakups, interceptions, defensive touchdowns, etc., on defense?
Brooks & right behind him Rodriguez in tackles, Trader & Louis 1-interception each, Johnson a pick-six, Seiler 1-fumble recovery
And receiving yards, touchdowns, receptions, rushing production, and first downs, etc., on offense?
Ollie Gordon II
What are your stat-line projections for our key playmakers this week?
Ollie Gordon II over 100yds rushing
Brooks 15-tackles, Rodriguez 13-tackles, 1-interception
Who will be the team’s MVPs on each side of the ball?
Ollie Gordon II & Brooks
Final Score – Dolphins 24 Jets 17
Molly Polly II sees things going wrong, along with a kicker who will want revenge.
Should be an ole fashioned battle in the trenches. Jets are +4, Finz -4 in turnovers. I’ll be surprised if Aaron Glenn doesn’t attack (blitz) our weakest link. Jason Sanders wants to rub it in….he kicks 5 FGs. If we go into this game “staying the course” Jets win 15-10.
FLexile, for legal reasons, would like you to be sure to read the disclaimer.
I’ve never been more sure of anything in my entire life. Zane Gonzalez will set the NFL record by kicking 9 FG’s. The Dolphins win by a score of 27-6. Start panhandling, start nabbing coins from wishing wells, start swiping from the collection plate at church(you will put it all back after you win) and bet it on the Dolphins!!!
Not financial advice. For entertainment purposes only.
DolphinsKings1 has Ollie carrying the team with a career kinda game.
Dolphins 27 Jets 24 OT Zane Gonzalez wins it in OT with a 39 yard FG after a Geno Smith INT.
Malik is poor passing it again 18 of 28 173 yards and 1 INT
Ollie goes off 29 carries 192 yards 2 TD’s
Wright gets 22 carries 86 yards and a TD
Willis gets 4 carries for 28 yardsDefense 3 sacks (Chop 2) and Uche (1)
Interceptions 2 (Anderson and Johnson in OT)
Bill Moody believes that this is one of only three chances we have to put a check in the win column this season.
This is one of our 3 chances to win a game, and probably the least likely of the 3.
(WK 7) Jets in NY – Not likely, but not completely a no (we’re coming in rested off a BYE)
(WK 12) Jets in Miami – Toss up, but possible
(WK 16) Chargers in Miami – Lock it in, our one guaranteed win this year.
USMCFinPhreak sees two not-so-great teams playing tomorrow.
It’s a competition for a race to the bottom.
heatforlife wants to tank for that top pick.
i want them to lose every game to get the rights to this mestamker qb.looks like josh allen 2.0.were gonna see prob 2 best young qbs tonight.youve got to get that position right.chi got second chance after taking trubisky over mahomes.pats struck gold .i have no interest in jeremiah smith over this qb.or if another qb suddenly comes out of nowhere.
phinette has the Jets pulling it out in the end.
What are your predictions, bold or otherwise, for the Miami Dolphins’ defense and offense in this coming Sunday’s game vs. the New York Jets?
I think our defense will hang tough for three quarters, but the Jets find a way in the 4th. Final Score- Jets 24-20.
The leaders on defense will be Rodriguez and Brooks, with 8 and 5 solo tackles respectively.
Well put pressure on Geno but fail to get a sack. He throws for 285 yards, 2TDs, and 1 INT. Allen scores a rushing TD.
On the offensive side of the ball, Gordon rushes for 95 years and a TD. Malik throws for 185 with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. The leading receiver will be Washington with 6 receptions for 68 yards.
We kick 2 field goals and have 7 penalties for 75 yards.
Jptapt says Why not us?
21-17 Dolphins. Why not?
It is the Jets.
JKBMia says that getting a good pass rush going is the key to the Phins winning this one.
Jets have a really nice pass catching corps with everyone basically healthy.
Need to get pressure on Geno if they have any shot to win. He loves to make stupid mistakes but if he sits back there all day with no pressure he will pick us apart for 350.
That’s our selection of comments for this evening. It seems, as usual, that some see us finally pulling one out, while others predict only doom. I personally believe that the Phins, with the way that they continue to get a bit better each week, will eventually pull one out, shocking some team that we have no business beating late in the season. Of course, any game against the Jets is a possible win, as has long since become the norm. As always, thank you to each of you who took the time to stop in and answer our Phinsider Question Of The Day.
