Well, the good news is that Kansas City posted a video of their goal.
The bad news is that was the only goal of Marquette’s 1-0 loss on Thursday night. The worse news is that you can see MU keeper Hailey Wade get caught in the middle of attacking that ball in the air and defending the Brecklynn Pugh shot that beats her for the goal. The really awful news is that was one
of just eight shots on goal for the entire match for Kansas City, and the downside to the really awful news is that it was one of just two shots on goal for the entire match. The other one? Saved by Hailey Wade in the 88th minute on KC’s final shot of the match.
I’d love to tell you more about what happened in this match other than the Golden Eagles losing 1-0 to the team picked to finish last in the Summit League this season, yes, picked worse than the St. Thomas team that Marquette beat 4-1 last time out, but I can not. Mostly by choice, I guess, but I’m not paying for a month’s worth of Summit League Network in order to see this match. Oh well.
Up Next: Marquette has to deal with losing this match to a team that’s not supposed to be good this season by hosting the #5 team in the country on Sunday. That’s Notre Dame, and they’ll be in the Valley at 1pm Central on Sunday. The Fighting Irish beat Michigan State 3-0 on Thursday night.
