Yesterday at Rock M and Rock M+
- In which Audrey previews the beginning of the Mizzou Golf season:
The Tigers, who finished last season with the fifth-best team score in school history at the National Golf Invitational, are returning with an experienced roster, led by senior Veikka Viskari, who ended last season averaging 71.92 strokes and placing 49th at the NCAA Championship Arizona regional.
In addition to Viskari and Hawkins, the Missouri roster includes Paxton Maxwell, Trent Mierl and Brock Snyder. Viskari, Snyder and Mierl are coming off an appearance in the US Amateur Championship earlier this month where they became the first set of Tigers in two decades to qualify for the event. Andy Yang will play as an individual.
You know, I’ve been watching lots of golf videos on YouTube lately, maybe I’ll give this team some more attention.

I’m so glad Margo captured this one, with Claire Morrissey being lifted up by her teammate, Sierra Dudley, in celebration. It’s like half Lion King, half Rose on the edge of the Titanic, and so much fun.

- In which Mizzou Soccer gets shut out in a Midwest showdown:
The shot count told a lopsided story: Missouri finished with 21 total shots to Creighton’s 7, and held an 11-6 edge in corner kicks. But only 7 of those shots tested the keeper, and Creighton’s tandem of Kailey Hall (4 saves in the first half) and Morgan Paley (3 saves in the second) combined to keep a clean sheet. Hall’s best stop came late, denying Audrey Gilbert’s low shot to the bottom right corner in the 89th minute — Missouri’s last real chance to salvage a point.
It’s not good when you don’t score goals, that’s my analysis of soccer.
