France is making this World Cup look almost routine. Loaded with world-class talent at every position, Les Bleus have cruised into the semifinals while barely breaking a sweat. Whether it is their explosive attack, dominant midfield, or seemingly endless depth off the bench, this squad has looked like the complete package.
What makes this team so fascinating is not just the star power, but the options. Didier Deschamps can rotate elite players without a noticeable drop in quality. Kylian Mbappé remains
one of the biggest game changers in football, but he is surrounded by an incredible supporting cast featuring players who would be the centerpiece of almost any other national team. Even injuries or suspensions do not seem to slow France down, which says everything about the talent available.
Of course, the debate is not an easy one. Spain’s golden generation from 2008-2012 won three consecutive major tournaments and completely changed how international football was played. Brazil’s 1970 side remains legendary to those who witnessed it, while the 2002 Brazil team, the 2010 Spain squad, and Germany’s 2014 World Cup champions all have strong claims. Argentina’s recent run, highlighted by the 2022 World Cup triumph, also deserves to be part of the conversation.
Still, this French squad may have the deepest collection of talent ever assembled in international football. They combine youth, experience, athleticism, technical quality, and winning pedigree in a way few national teams ever have.
Is this France team the greatest international squad you have ever seen, or does another legendary national team still hold that title? Tell us your pick in the comments and let us know why.
