We’re a little over ten days removed from the 2026 NFL Draft, and for some fans, that means it’s the perfect time to whip out the credit card and order a flashy new jersey.
As someone who just witnessed a literal purge of big-name players from his favorite football team, I can’t bring myself to buy another jersey. (My track record isn’t very good, either) But that’s not the consensus among most of the Dolphins’ fanbase, at least according to a recent study.
In fact, after one week, not one, but two
of Miami’s rookies are currently ranked among the top-selling rookie jerseys. Here’s a look at the top-10 highest-selling rookie jerseys according to Fanatics — with the help of Fox Sports:::
Dolphins’ LB Jacob Rodriguez and CB Chris Johnson have two of the highest-selling rookie jerseys in the league.
The highest-selling rookie jersey after one week of the 2026 NFL draft is Dallas Cowboys safety Caleb Downs.
That’s right.
Not Las Vegas Raiders quarterback, Fernando Mendoza — who is #5 on the list — or Arizona Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love — who is #6 — but Downs, the 11th-overall pick. A pick that would have never been possible if it weren’t for Miami trading down a spot with Dallas and picking up two additional fifth-round picks. #NeverForget
As for Miami, 12th-overall pick, Kadyn Proctor, isn’t on this list. But the Dolphins’ other first-rounder, Chris Johnson, is. The 27th-overall pick currently has the #6 highest-selling jersey on Fanatics. Maybe that’s because he has all the talent in the world to be a shutdown cornerback in the NFL, or maybe there are a ton of San Diego State fans jumping ship.
Whatever the case, I was surprised to see Johnson at #6 — but not nearly as surprised as I was to see where Dolphins’ rookie linebacker Jacob Rodriguez ranked.
Without ever playing a down in the NFL, Dolphins’ second-round pick (43rd Overall), Jacob Rodriguez is already one of the more popular players on the roster. His aggressive style of play, coupled with his trademark mustache and create-a-superstar-esque gear, made him an instant favorite.
One week later, it looks like fans are still loving the pick.
The former Texas Tech linebacker is currently SECOND in the NFL in jersey sales. Proving that the fanbase is lining up in droves to support the team’s newest viltrumite, despite neither Rodriguez nor Johnson having an assigned jersey number.
And it’s not only the fans that have lofty expectations for Rodriguez; check out what Sullivan said after night two.
“I can’t say enough good things about Jacob (Rodriguez), and I think more importantly, the people that have been around him for the time that they have at Texas Tech and the things they say about him not only as a football player and the intangibles, but the type of person he is – the tape speaks for itself, he’s all over the field. He makes plays everywhere. His instincts are second to none. He can play in space, on third downs and he’s going to help this football team. But he’s a leader. He’s a green dot guy. He’ll call the defense in time, and I think he’ll fit really well in the room with (Jordyn) Brooks and ‘T. Dot’ (Tyrel Dodson) and he’d be a great addition to the Miami Dolphins.”
Other players in the top-10 include Cowboys EDGE Malachi Lawrence (#3), Pittsburgh Steelers QB Drew Allar (#4), New England Patriots OT Caleb Lomu (#8), Chicago Bears safety Dillon Thieneman (#9), and New York Jets EDGE David Bailey
