Der Klassiker is here! The Bundesliga’s traditional Topspiel kicks off tomorrow at 12:30 pm EST and will see the league’s two unbeaten teams, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, face off in the Allianz
Arena. For Bayern fans, this match presents the opportunity for their team to display its dominance once again. Vincent Kompany’s side is already running away in the league with a four-point advantage, +22 goal difference, and decisive wins against some of the Bundesliga’s blue bloods. The Bavarians haven’t scored less than three goals in any match this season and have only conceded three total Bundesliga goals. They are legitimately dominant and will be looking to turn their title chase into a five-month victory parade with a win against Dortmund tomorrow.
For Die Schwarzgelben, tomorrow’s match presents an opportunity to show how far the team has come under Nico Kovac. Dortmund’s record in Bavaria is abysmal with one win (2-0 in 2024) in the last decade and several massacres. We should expect to see an extremely pragmatic Dortmund that is looking to counterattack while Bayern Munich dominate possession. Karim Adeyemi, Serhou Guirassy, and Maximilian Beier could be lethal on the break and will have to be clinical if Borussia Dortmund want to win.
A win for the good guys will see Bayern’s lead in the table be cut down to just one point while a loss could see Bayern Munich go seven points clear of Dortmund.
Player to Watch: Harry Kane

There really is only one option for ‘player to watch’ – Harry Kane. The English talisman has eleven goals and three assists in only 493 Bundesliga minutes this season. That’s about two goals every 90 minutes. Harry Kane is probably the best striker on the planet and will be looking to prove it once again. If Borussia Dortmund wants any chance at winning this game, they’ll have to hope ‘Arry has a quiet night and Schlotterbeck is up for the challenge.
Predicted Lineup: 3-5-2

No surprises for Dortmund here. Dortmund’s beleaguered backline will be vital in this match, and we can expect to see Nico Schlotterbeck, Rami Bensebaini, and Waldermar Anton holding the line. In midfield, we can expect Felix Nmecha and Marcel Sabitzer for their physicality and experience while I expect Svensson and Couto on the flanks. Adeyemi, Beier, and Guirassy will be up front.
