Robert Lewandowski’s agent has played down speculation the Barcelona striker could look to retire if he’s not offered a new contract at the club next season.
A report from Sport this week has claimed that
Lewandowski’s priority is to stay at Barcelona and that he’s not interested in heading to the Saudi Pro League for a big payday.
There was even a suggestion that Lewandowski could potentially hang up his boots if he can’t stay at Barcelona and doesn’t receive any other offers that inspire him.
Lewandowski’s agent has now been asked about such talk but insists the 37-year-old is not thinking about calling it a day right now.
“The reports that Lewandowski is thinking about retiring are incorrect,” he told WinWin Sports.
“He is a very special striker, but there is no news yet regarding the renewal of his contract or his future with Barcelona.”
Both Hansi Flick and Deco have also spoken about Lewandowski recently but have also insisted it’s too early in the season to make a final decision on his future.
