Jiri Prochazka had Carlos Ulberg fighting on one leg and still somehow managed to screw things up atop the UFC 327 fight card earlier this year in Miami, then couldn’t decide on which post-fight excuse best fit his championship blunder.
Ahead of his return to the Octagon later this year, Prochazka stripped down to his shorts and wandered into a patch of stinging nettle, plants with tiny little shards on the end of each leaf that can get stuck in your epidermis and leave you with itchy rash and burning
skin.
I guess it beats baking in the sauna for two hours.
Sadly, “BJP” did not stick around long enough t0 punch them 500 times.
To be fair to the nettle, the plant also has medicinal benefits and can be consumed, producing “a mild, earthy, grassy green flavor that’s almost salty-tasting from their rich mineral content,” according to the edible community (no, not those edibles).
Prochazka (32-6-1) is 6-3 under the UFC banner with his only losses coming against Alex Pereira (twice) and the aforementioned Ulberg.
