There’s no denying that the San Francisco Giants have been lacking in pitching, both at the Major League level and on the farm. And they’ve gone all-in addressing that in the 2026 MLB Draft. After using the No. 4 overall pick on the consensus top pitcher in the draft, UC Santa Barbara righty Jackson Flora, the Giants went with an upside selection a few hours later, taking prep lefty Carson Bolemon with the No. 29 pick.
Bolemon, a 19-year old from Southside Christian High School in South Carolina,
is viewed quite highly. Among the big boards from major prospect outlets, Bolemon was No. 24 at MLB Pipeline, No. 28 at The Athletic, No. 30 at Fangraphs, No. 41 at ESPN, and No. 42 at Baseball America. He has a commitment to Wake Forest, but the Giants should have no problem buying him out of that.
